Authorhouse Hijacked My Novel

October 27, 2011

My novel The Tuzla Run was originally published by Authorhouse in 2009. I was unhappy with the result and instructed them to stop publication and sale. They did not respond.

I republished with Createspace, both in hard copy and eBook format, but Authorhouse continued to offer the book to buyers.

I wrote by mail to Authorhouse in the USA and received a commitment from them in a letter dated July 20th, 2011 that they would not offer my book for sale.

I now find that not only have they continued to offer my book for sale but they have  also published an eBook version for sale on Kindle.

Needless to say I have not been informed of any royalties.

  1. I bet you’re angrier than you sound…

They can’t possibly hope to get away with this, but it’s disgusting that they would even try.

    Good luck.

I’m beginning to see a glimmer of hope in that they have – at last – answered my letter. I’ll stay optimistic. Thanks.

  3. Hi Robert, I also had issues with Authorhouse. Also a book I published with them, I was happy with the book, but after the book was published, I battled to get reaction from them. It is a long story and space is too short to go into detail, but I guess you are not the only one having trouble with them. I also just had my book re published locally, at a tenth of the price I paid at Authorhouse.

Would love to get in contact with you.

    Kind regards,
    Colin.

    Colin,

Please excuse the apparent delay in answering but I’m still trying to cope with all this new (to me) technology and keep discovering massages all over the place.
I look forward to hearing more about your problems and how you resolved them.
